Science Fair Winners

The gymnasium at Boyet Junior High hosted the 2016 Little Oak Middle School/Boyet Junior High Science Fair on January 15. Jointly sponsored by the PTA from both schools, the fair provides a forum to foster scientific interest and excellence in our society's next generation. Before the ceremonies began, families and supportive community members toured the science fair displays while the students described their work and demonstrated their results. Earlier that day, dozens of volunteer judges from regional science and engineering activities had interviewed the students and examined the displays, encouraging the kids to speak about their work and distill what they had actually done and learned. By the end of the day, recommendations from the judges were compiled to select winners in various categories. The best in show and place winners are eligible to continue to the regional science fair at Southeastern Louisiana University.
The overall winner receiving the Best in Show (sponsored by Environmental Enterprises USA) was: Joshua H.

The students receiving the Top Judges Award (sponsored by The Fair Coordinatrors): Aiyanna H. and Chloe N.

In addition to the Best in Show winners, there were place winners in each grade.
